MULTAN: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has removed four south Punjab office-bearers including information secretary Shaukat Mahmood Basra for violating the party discipline.

According to a notification issued by PPP south Punjab President Syed Ahmad Mahmood, Mr Basra, Multan Division President Malik Noshair Langryal, Dera Ghazi Khan Divisional General Secretary Sardar Ghulam Farid Mirani and Layyah District General Secretary Dr Javed Iqbal Kunjial have been removed from their party positions after the approval of chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari for violating the party policy.

PPP south Punjab Vice President Khwaja Rizwan Alam said the action had been taken against the office-bearers as all of them are contesting election as independent candidates.
