SUKKUR: Election Tribunal Sukkur Judge Faheem Ahmed Siddiqi has rejected the nomination papers of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate for PS-27 (Khairpur-II) former provincial minister of industries Manzoor Wassan on the plea of objections filed by Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) candidate Mir Zaheer Talpur contesting for the same seat.

In the objections filed against Mr Wassan, known as the ‘king of dreams’, Mir Zaheer stated that he did not declare his 25 per cent shares in a company of Dubai while he remained manager of the said company from 2012 to 2016. He also did not declare the salaries which he received from the company, according to the objections.

In this regard, Mr Wassan has said that he could not understand as to why his nomination papers were rejected, although he declared all his assets in the nomination papers. He said he would go to the high court against the decision of the Election Tribunal Sukkur.

SHIKARPUR: An appellate tribunal rejected the nomination papers of Mir Abid Ali Bhayo, a PPP candidate for NA-198, for allegedly having two computerised national identity cards (CNICs), and two votes at his native village of Jagan and disqualified him.

According to reports, the justice of the appellate tribunal heard the objections levelled by Ameer Ali Jatoi against Mr Bhayo and disqualified him.

Mir Abid Ali Bhayo announced that he would lodge an appeal against the decision in the apex court for justice.

Mr Bhayo has served as provincial minister for youth affairs in the previous government and has status of district president of PPP Shikarpur district.

Meanwhile, the appellate tribunal has rejected allegations filed by Agha Taimoor Khan Pathan against Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, PPP candidate contesting for PS-7, and kept the decision intact of the returning officer of Shikarpur. The tribunal also gave decision in favour of Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, a PPP candidate for PS-9, and rejected all objections raised by his opponent belonging to the PTI.

The nomination form of Zulfikar Ali Kamario, a PPP candidate for NA-199, has also been approved.
