Two guns snatched from police

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, May 31: A group of armed men snatched two SMGs and 60 rounds from two policemen after injuring one of them near the DPO’s residence on Serhel minor here on Monday night. Constable Imamuddin Rajput and head constable Liaquat Ali of the police line were patrolling with official guns on Serhal minor near the DPO house.

All of a sudden, ten unidentified bandits emerged on the scene and snatched two SMGs and 60 cartridges from them after injuring constable Imamuddin who resisted the bandits.

They immediately informed the DPO house staff and a police team, along with sniffing dogs, was sent to trace the bandits.

The police followed the footprints upto the Bakhshoo Rind village and arrested six persons — an elderly person Ghulam Mohammad Rind, his three sons, Ali Nawaz alias Nazo, Nek Mohammad Rind and Amir Ali Rind, and two grandsons, Lal Bux Rind and Alam Rind.

The DPO, Iqbal Dara, claimed that the police have identified the bandits and they would soon be arrested.

Wada Head Constable Umrani of the Naushahro Feroze police station, said that several people had been picked up and FIRs were being lodged against them.

An FIR under section 17/3 EHO and 353 PPC was lodged against Nek Muhammad Rind and Abdul Khaliq Rind and two unidentified accused.

Police also claimed recovery of some arms from possession of the arrested persons of Bakhshoo village.
