KARACHI, May 31: The chief of the Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) Pir Pagaro, who had talks on Tuesday with former PML-Q President Mian Mohammed Azhar said they would try to bring about a change in the federal government after presentation of the next federal budget.

“I had useful talks with Mian Azhar. We will again meet in Karachi after the federal budget for the fiscal 2005-06 is presented to implement decisions taken in today’s meeting,” the PML-F chief told newsmen at his residence after talks with Mian Azhar, who had flown in here earlier from Lahore.

According to Pir Pagaro, “The Gujarat League’s (referring to PML President Ch Shujaat Hussain) mopping ceremony will take place shortly. There will be ‘family’ planning, which will result in the removal of undesirable political elements.”

About his meeting with the newly appointed Sindh PML Secretary General and Provincial Minister Nadir Leghari, the PML-F chief said since he was a “friend of my son I met him twice, as I thought he was sent by an arbitrator. Had I known that Ch Shujaat Hussain had sent him, I would not have given him time.”

Mian Azhar, ex-governor Punjab told newsmen that people in the country were looking towards President Pervez Musharraf to change what he called the inefficient PML leadership.

“A large number of Muslim Leaguers in Punjab want to leave the party but Ch Shujaat and Ch Pervez Elahi have given 250 of them the offices of vice president in the party’s provincial set up,” he alleged.—PPI
