MARDAN/NOWSHERA: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to focus on taking measures for holding free, fair and transparent elections instead of reshuffling bureaucracy across the country.

He was speaking at a press conference at his residence in Mardan on Friday. Without naming the PTI chief, he alleged that the election commission was following instructions of one particular person which was not acceptable to them.

He urged the relevant officials of the election commission to deal all political parties ofthe country equally.

Mr Hoti urged the government to call an all-party conference to devise a code of conduct for the coming general elections. He claimed that ANP would win majority seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the general elections.

He said that they would not make election alliance with any political party.

On this occasion, JI and QWP activists, including Ameer Zeb Khan and Iqbal Khan, announced to join ANP.

In Nowshera’s Khweshgi area, Mr Hoti told a public meeting that ANP was contesting the coming election for securing the rights of Pakhtun nation.

Mr Hoti said that former chief minister Pervez Khattak should know that retired generals Ayub Khan, Ziaul Haq and Pervez Musharraf had failed to end ANP then how he (Khattak) could damage it.

He alleged that Mr Khattak was the most corrupt politician in the province.He said that the former chief minister had done nothing for development of Nowshera.

Meanwhile, ANP’scentral general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that ANP was doing practical politics and serving the people without any discrimination.

Addressing public meetings at Jabba Tar, Shahkot and Nasir Kallay, he said that ANP would focus on development of health and education facilities in the province if people voted them to power in the coming general elections.

He said that they would complete all incomplete projects in the area and give houses to homeless people.
