DADU, May 30: Eight passengers were killed and 18 injured in a head-on collision between a trailer and a passenger coach on the Indus Highway near Thermal Power House of Jamshoro on Monday. Reports said the Dadu-bound passenger coach collided with a trailer loaded with coal coming in the opposite direction at Khan Jo petrol pump near Thermal Power House Jamshoro.

The dead were identified as Ms Hanifan, 17, and Ms Sambreen, 5, both daughters of Muhammad Soomar; Imdad Shah,50; Ms Zahida Panhwar, 28; Ms Rahiman Mallah, 40; Ms Lalian Panhwar and Ghulam Qadir Rodhnani. The name of one victim could not be ascertained. His body was lying at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences hospital, Jamshoro.

All the injured were admitted to the hospital where condition of many of them was stated to be serious. The injured were identified as Chanesar, Khan Muhammad, Hadi Bux, Ms Haliman, Karim Bux, Haji Ali, Ms Rukhsana, Ismail, Hakim Ali, Jameel Khan, Hashim, Dhani Bux, Ms Bano, Meer Khan and Ahmed. Names of three others could not be ascertained.
