BAHAWALPUR: Railway traffic on chord line between Lodhran and Khanewal remained suspended for over five hours when a wagon of Lahore-bound goods train derailed near Jahania Railway Station, about 30-km from Lodhran junction here on Tuesday.

According to railway officials, one of the wagons of the goods train derailed near Jahania, suspending traffic on both up and down sides.

After receiving information about the derailment, the railway controller stopped all mail and express trains including Akbar Bugti Express, Millat Express, Allama Iqbal Express and Karakoram Express bound for up and down directions at Khanewal and other stations. The gangmen took five hours to restore rail link on the chord line.
