DADU, May 30: Five alleged bandits were arrested during a massive search operation launched against criminals here on Monday. A heavy contingent of police, led by DPO operation Dadu, Rukhsar Ahmed Khuhawar, raided Moundar and Bhand Mari forests in the kachho belt, arrested four alleged bandits identified as Yaqoob Ali Shahani, Fateh Mohammad Shahani, Ali Nawaz and Sikandar Ali Khoso.
Police also recovered three shotguns and 50 cartridges from their possession.
The same police party also raided at hilly area in the jurisdiction of Pat Gul Muhammad police station, arrested an alleged bandit Mohammad Hanif Leghari and seized one rifle from his possession. The DPO said that the operation against the bandits was going on and 20 sensitive points linking Sindh with Balochistan were sealed. These points included Salari, Morial Jo Koh, Shah Godrio, Pati Ji Moro, Gaaj Bungalow, Rajo Dero, Yaro Sain Luk, Khahwar Luk near the Gorakh Hill Station, Bhangal Morr, Tivi Poster and others.
He said that police posts were set up at these points and a force of 550 policemen were deployed during the operation in the hilly belts alongwith the Khirthar range Khawal Luk, Gorani mountain, Gozo area, Dakhani and Mad Bungar areas. He claimed that the arrested people were involved in heinous crime like kidnappings, robberies and murders. He said that 10 bandits dacoits, nine highwaymen and 56 criminals, picked up on Sunday, were lodged in jail.
BREACH: A 100-feet wide breach occurred in Nara distributary near the Jhando Gadhi village, Khairpur Nathan Shah taluka, on Monday. Three villages - Rehan Gadhi, Biro Khan Gadhi and Adho Gadhi were flooded.
Around 500 acres of agricultural land including 300 acres of wheat crop and vegetables were submerged. The water was gushing toward village Jhando Gadhi.
The affected villagers and farmers alleged that breach occurred due to negligence of the irrigation officials who failed to plug the breach till the filing of this report.
