KARACHI:L: JI blames Muttahida

KARACHI, May 30: The Jamaat-i-Islami on Monday alleged that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was involved in the murder of JI Karachi Naib Amir and former MPA Muhammad Aslam Mujahid. In a statement issued here on Monday, JI spokesman said that it was a target killing. He said that Mujahid was on his way to home at about 3pm after attending funeral of slain nazim of Jamaat-i-Islami Jamal Tahir when 25 to 30 armed men surrounded his car in Landhi No 4.

“The armed men tortured the two persons accompanying Aslam Mujahid in the car and left them at the spot and kidnapped Mujahid. According to eye-witnesses, abductors were led by MQM Landhi Sector In-charge and they carried JI leader in the car of the sector in-charge,” JI spokesman added.

He further said that Mujahid was taken to some unknown place where he was killed. He received several bullets in his head, chest and arms. His body was later found near Landhi Degree College, Landhi No 6, from where it was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital, the spokesman said.

JUI: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan condemning the murder of a JI leader Mohammad Aslam Mujahid termed it a conspiracy of the terrorists to postpone the ensuing local bodies’ elections.

The JUI chief Prof Shah Faridul Haq and other leaders Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair (MNA), Maulana A. Kadri, Siddiq Rathore, and others termed the kidnapping and subsequent killing of Aslam Mujahid a failure of the Sindh government and an act of terrorism under the protection of the government

They said that the terrorists were letting the reign of terror loose in the urban areas to postpone the local bodies’ elections. They said that the terrorists were afraid of the developmental projects being carried out in the city.

They urged the authorities to arrest the culprits behind this killing and also institute a probe into the killing incidents in the city during the last 15 years.

BLAST: MMA leader and JI Karachi Ameer Dr Mirajul Huda condemning the suicide attack on Madianatul Illm mosque said that the desecrators of Holy Quraan were behind this incident.

He said that after conducting a blast at Bari Imam shrine in Islamabad these elements had targeted the Imambargah in Karachi to fan the sectarian hatred. He said that conspiracies of these elements would go failed. He said that those wanted to target Iran had begun implementation on their agenda.—PPI
