Construction of Clifton roads to finish in two days, says Karachi mayor

KARACHI: City Mayor Wasim Akhtar said on Saturday that construction of roads in Clifton would be completed in two days while the construction of roads in all districts of the city was under way.

He said that the completion of 650,000 square feet roads in Block-5 of Clifton in two days would provide convenience to residents of the salubrious part of the city.

The mayor said this while inspecting the construction work in Clifton. Municipal Commissioner Dr Saif-ur-Rehman was also present during the inspection of roads.

The mayor said that priority had been set for development works in the next fiscal year.

The mayor said parks and playgrounds were public properties; therefore, no encroachments would be allowed on them.

“We need to promote healthy activities among our youth so their energy could be used in a better [direction],” he added.

Why building of a road is in news, this is a basic necessity and should be done without saying. And completion done within 2 days, here in the west they don't even fill in a ditch in 2 days unless done properly. I can imagine the quality, pathetic

Thank you Mr Mayor. I pray that the roads will last for atleast few years. I hope that the money has been spent on building the roads and not enriching the politicians and contractors.
