KARACHI, May 29: Protest rallies staged outside Karachi Press Club separately by the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Sunni Tehreek and Anjuman Naujawanan-i-Islam on Sunday demanded that the US should extend unconditional apology to Ummah for sacrilege of Holy Quran by its soldiers.

The participants of the rallies who were holding banners, placards and party flags with anti-US slogans condemned the incident and called upon the US to hand over the culprits to them to give them exemplary punishment.

They criticized the rulers for siding with the US and for failing to protest over the desecration of the Holy Quran and said that like independence and sovereignty it was duty of everybody to protest against sacrilege of Holy Quran to defend their faith.

CATHOLICS BODY: The president of the Catholic Association, Herbert Fernandez, condemning the desecration of the Holy Quran at the US torture centre of Guantánamo Bay, demanded the US President, George W Bush, to tender an apology, adds PPI.
