Good news for the prospective candidates who were unable to file their nomination papers by the June 8 deadline.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has extended the date to file nomination papers by three days to June 11.

According to the revised schedule, contesting candidates will now be allotted their election symbols on June 30.

However, a change in the timeline does not mean you can expect a delay in the holding of the poll (even if Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti and Sheikh Rasheed think it will be unbearably hot on July 25 for people to vote).

The ECP is adamant the election will be held on time.

"The date of poll shall remain intact and poll will be held on July 25, 2018 as notified earlier."

See the complete revised schedule here.
