KARACHI: Both the outfits of district Malir — Whites and Colours — registered narrow victories over their respective opponents in the Olympian Mansoor Ahmed Inter-district five-a-side hockey league at the KHA Sports Complex on Saturday.

Four-goal Asif Raza guided Malir Whites to a nail-biting 7-6 victory over district West Colours. Zohaib, Aqib and Bilal netted one goal apiece to complete the rout.

Hammad Ahmed shone for the losers with a tally of four goals to his credit while Sultan and Taha struck once.

Malir Colours earned full points by getting the better of West Whites 6-5 in the second match. Zarullah (3), Zeeshan (2) and Huzaifa Nadeem 91) earned the scoring honours for the winners.

Asad scored four and Liaquat one for the losers.

Korangi Colours, who were held to a seven-all draw in the opener, trounced South Whites 20-8.

Hammad and Shujaat were on a goal-scoring spree as the former slammed 10, highest of the event so far while the latter ended up with seven. Zubair scored the remaining three goals for the winners.

Zafran and Ghalib shared six goals amongst themselves as Asad and Ghulam Abbas scored one goal apiece for the losers.
