KUALA LUMPUR: Pakistan women cricket team coach Mark Coles said the players are geared up for the T20 Asia Cup which commences here from Sunday, June 3 and are confident about putting up a better show against all teams, especially against formidable India.

“All the teams have improved, especially India. The key for us is to focus on what we can do and not worry too much about the opposition,” said Coles while talking exclusively to this correspondent from KL.

“We just need to do the job that we have to do as individuals and as a team. T20 Cricket on its day can be changed in one ball and is therefore anybody’s game,” he added

Pakistan will start their campaign on the opening day with a game against Thailand. Arch-rivals Pakistan and India will lock horns on June 9.

Apart from Pakistan and India, the other competing teams in the event are Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Thailand.

The New Zealand-born Coles said the preparations have been good leading into the Asia Cup. “We (Pakistan) have undergone strenuous training for this event.”

In the ACC event, each team will play at least one match against all teams. The final match of the event is scheduled to be held on June 10.
