EVERY summer there are heatwaves and droughts. Thus it is unfortunate our TV channels create hype about it.

It covers the news about heatwaves in inflated terms creating panic among people especially Karachiites.

The authorities must assess the situation and direct all TV houses to be responsible while airing news about the ill-effects of the scorching heat on human beings.

They should create awareness among the people about how to guard themselves against the fire-emitting sun. The people should avoid direct exposure to the sun, restrict their movement and remain indoors.

Besides, the government must ensure the uninterrupted supply of electricity during the summer, particularly in Ramazan.
