Neucon Pakistan issued show-cause notice

ISLAMABAD: The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) issued a show-cause notice to Neucon Pakistan for copying the packaging of Biofreeze Gel and Spray (a product of the USA-based, Performance Health Inc), and violating Section 10 of the Competition Act.

Biofreeze is distributed in Pakistan by Ferozsons Laboratories Limited. Ferozsons’ formal complaint to the CCP said that Neucon was using deceptively similar trademark, packaging, and labelling of its product, Biofreeze, for its product, BYQFREEZ. Ferozsons is the authorised importer of the products of Performance Health, USA.

The CCP’s inquiry confirmed trademark infringement. The inquiry also found that

Neucon Pakistan was engaged in copycat packaging of the product of Ferozsons Laboratories to deceive consumers and harm the business interest of Ferozsons. Neucon Pakistan has been directed to respond in writing within fourteen days.—Staff Reporter

Hubco, FWO Enjazat sign MoU

KARACHI: The Hub Power Company (Hubco) has signed a memorandum of understanding with FWO Enjazat LLC to explore collaboration on various business opportunities in energy, water and mining sectors.

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Thursday, Hubco informed that the FWO Enjazat is a partnership between Frontier Works Organization and the Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum

“Hubco and FWO are interested in collaborating on various business opportunities and developing business ventures across multiple sectors in Pakistan and abroad, with special focus on energy, water recycling and desalination, infrastructure development and mining,” the company stated.—Equities Correspondent
