Ayesha leads team to victory

LAHORE, May 26: Four wickets by Ayesha Ashraf and fine batting by Maria Zaheer helped Garrison Post Graduate College, Lahore Cantt defeat Government College Gulberg, Lahore by 134 runs in the Punjab University women Inter-collegiate cricket championship on Thursday.

Set to score 181 in the allotted 20 overs, Ayesha snared four wickets for 26 runs in four overs as the losing side was bundled out for 46 in 10 overs.

Batting first Maria scored 46 with four fours while Rabia Tabbasum made 39 with three boundaries as the winning team piled up 180 for three in 20 overs.

SUMMARISED SCORES:

GARRISON 180 for three in 20 overs (Maria Zaheer 46, Rabia Tabbasum 39, Maria 19 not out, Maleeha nine not out).

GULBERG 46 in 10 overs (Ayesha Ashraf 4-26, Madeeha 2-10).

Govt APWA College will meet Govt Baghbanpura, College Lahore on Friday.
