ISLAMABAD: As many as five legislators on Wednesday joined Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

MNAs Dr Mohammad Afzal Khan Dhandla from Bhakkar and Mian Mohammad Rasheed from Narowal have decided to quit PML-N and join PTI.

Both had a meeting with the Chairman PTI Imran Khan at Banigala on Wednesday. Senior PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen was also present on the occasion.

Moreover, MPAs Ghazanfar Abbas Cheema, Amir Shahani and Awais Qasim have also decided to join PTI.

Meanwhile, PTI has completed interviews of 382 candidates of National and provincial assemblies of eight districts of Southern Punjab.

As many as 74 candidates have applied for 24 seats of National Assembly and 382 candidates for 48 seats of provincial assembly.

From Rawalpindi, 19 candidates have applied for National Assembly seats and 141 applied for provincial assemblies seats.

From Sargodha, 17 candidates have applied for NA and 52 for provincial assembly seats.

From Khoshab, six candidates have applied for National Assembly and 25 for provincial assembly seats.

From Chakwal, three candidates have applied for National Assembly seats of and 19 for provincial assembly.

From Northern Punjab 13 women have also applied for tickets.
