SIALKOT, May 26: The body of a human smuggling victim, who was a resident of Sialkot, reached here from Slovakia and he was laid to rest at his native graveyard at Muhammadpura on Wednesday.

Adnan Arshad was shot dead by border forces along with several other Pakistanis, who had illegally entered Slovakia in a bid to cross the borders and enter Italy about a week ago. Another local youngster, Ahmad alias Tuto, suffered serious injuries and he was admitted to a hospital in Slovakia in critical condition.

Belonging to middle-class families, Adnan and Ahmad had reportedly paid Rs1 million to four traffickers — Shahbaz of Muhammadpura (Sialkot), Ejaz (Gujranwala) and two others from Rawalpindi — for going to Italy to materialize their dreams.
