LAHORE, Jan 8: District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood has waived all the district city government taxes including the land revenue and water cess in border villages besides announcing relief in payment of utility bills and continuation of power supply despite non-payment of electricity bills.

The Nazim announced the relief measures during a tour of the border villages of Hudiara, Ghund and Padhana near here on Tuesday.

He called upon the residents of the border villages to stay in their homes and not to be misled by rumours.

The government had prepared a plan for their evacuation on official transport besides making arrangements for food and shelter for all of them in the event of an emergency.
