KARACHI, May 24: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, has called for stopping the upsurge of Western culture in the country. “Western culture is a poison for Islamic society and the best way to stop it is that students be apprised of its negative effects.”
He was inaugurating a cultural festival at Aisha Bawany School on Tuesday. He also distributed prizes among students securing positions in various classes.
The city nazim said students needed to be told that Western culture had been a source for ruin for their own society, with the family structure having dispersed in the there and sanctity of human relations trampled.
He said Western culture was becoming a source of lacking peace and restlessness for their own society as well.
The schools Administrator, Qamaruzzaman Yusufzai, also spoke.
KORANGI ROAD: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, has expressed displeasure over delay in the construction of the Korangi Road, directing the concerned officials to gear up the pace of work.
He issued the directive during an inspection visit to the under-construction road. He was apprised of the bottlenecks in the way of the road’s construction.
Niamat directed that construction of the 3-km road, from Korangi Crossing to Korangi No 2-1/2, and the culvert, should be completed by June 10 and opened for traffic within a month.
It was also decided that steps would be taken for shifting utility lines, which lay in the construction of the road from Al-Razi Medical Centre to Dawood Chowrangi.
The Nazim Landhi Town, Mohammed Shahid, informed Mr Niamat about details of the bottlenecks in the way of the Korangi-12000 Road construction.
The city nazim asked the concerned officials to take special measures for traffic flow during construction work so that people do not face any problems.—APP
