Riaz shines

KARACHI, May 23: A good all-round performance by Riaz Raza guided ENI to a close three-wicket win over BP Petroleum in the 2nd Abdul Quddoos Sheikh Memorial multinational cricket tournament at the PCB Academy ground here the other day.

Riaz claimed two for 22 in his five-over stint before scoring a match-winning 49.

In the other match, half-centuries by Sajjad Awan and Owais Afridi enabled ESW to defeat International Power by a comfortable margin of eight wickets.

BP PETROLEUM 139 in 24.4 overs (Ulfat Rasool 42, Arshad Kashif 20; Salman Siddiqui 3-31, Riaz Raza 2-22, Atif Khan 2-24); ENI 140-7 in 18.5 overs (Riaz Raza 49, Aamir Mahmood 23; Fazal Abbas 3-33, Ulfat Rasool 3-37).

ESW beat International Power by eight wickets.

INTERNATIONAL POWER 174-8 in 25 overs (Rehan Ahmed 76, Irfan Dehlvi 27, Naveed Sarwar 21; Zeyd Meer 2-18); ESW 178-2 in 19 overs (Sajjad Awan 58, Owais Afridi 53 not out, Zeyd Meer 42 not out).
