QUETTA, May 23: At least four people were killed and four others injured when bandits opened fire on a passenger wagon near Dera Murad Jamali on Monday. The wagon carrying over 30 people was on its way to Fateh Pur in Jhal Magsi district from Jacobabad when the dacoits riding motorcycles intercepted it in Landhi area and started looting the passengers.

The masked dacoits opened fire when a levies man travelling in the wagon put up resistance.

The wagon’s driver Allah Wassaia, a woman, Sift Bibi, and two others were killed and Faiz Bibi, Ghulam Ali, Gul Khan and Haji Khan were injured. The injured were taken to the local civil hospital. Later, seriously injured passenger was taken to Larkana for treatment.

An exchange of fire was reported between police and the dacoits in the area.
