GILGIT, May 23: The communities and Wildlife Department of Northern Areas earned Rs6.8 million from trophy hunting of ibex, markhor and blue sheep during the current season in community-controlled hunting areas. Divisional Forest Officer told Dawn here on Saturday that hunting was permitted against the allocated quota sanctioned by the National Conservation Committee, Islamabad.
He siad that 23 hunters participated in the trophy hunting out of whom 12 were US nationals.
