LAHORE, May 23: The PTCL Unions Action Committee has announced a three-hour token strike daily from Tuesday to press for the acceptance of the demands. Action Committee leaders made the announcement at a protest meeting at the LTR (south) on the 11th day of campaign for the acceptance of their demands here on Monday. The employees locked the offices and raised slogans against the PTCL management.

Addressing the employees, committee leaders Anwar Bhatti, Raees Qureshi, Ghazanfar Shah, Rana Iqbal, Ijaz Ahmad, Imran Rashid, Abdul Qayyum, Malik Imran Tajammal, Malik Rafiq Awan, Chaudhry Razzaq and Mian Iftikhar said the management had promised to accept their demands if they called off their strike. It had, however, refused to accept the demands after the strike was called off. An agreement signed with the Lines Staff Union secretary had not been honoured either.
