Man killed in road accident

TAXILA: A man was killed and another injured in separate incidents in Taxila and Hassanabdal police area on Tuesday.

In the first incident, Haroon Jadoon, 24, was on his motorcycle when a speeding trailer hit him near Margalla check post in Taxila police area, killing him on the spot.

Police while quoting family member said the victim was lone bread earner of his family.

In the second incident, a man was shot and injured in a robbery attempt in Pathargarh village in Hassanbadal police area. Police sources said that four armed men came in police uniform to the house of Nazar Fazal, an employee of National Highway Authority, and started collecting valuable items.

When he resisted, they opened fire on him, critically injuring him. The armed men managed to flee.

He was shifted to Rawalpindi due to his critical condition.

Respective police have registered separate cases and started further investigation.
