MINGORA/ LOWER DIR: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Friday insisted that the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had lost public trust as it had failed to deliver in every sector during its rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was addressing a public meeting in Panr area here, which was attended by a large number of party workers.

Mr Hoti censured the policies of PTI-led government and said that contrary to its loud claims the party had failed to complete any mega project in the province.

“The so-called champions of change have left the province bankrupt. The chief minister spent huge public money on Chief Minister House and Banigala Islamabad, depriving the public of much-needed development,” he said.

He insisted that PTI did not fulfill its single promise during the last five years and only ‘set new records of corruption’. “PTI has become a party of corrupt politicians who committed massive corruption in developmental projects, including Peshawar beautification project.”

“CM Pervez Khattak appeared before NAB in corruption cases which attest to poor performance of PTI in KP,” he said, adding that even PTI chief Imran Khan was facing corruption probe.

Mr Hoti claimed that it was ANP that despite unpleasant situation in the province provided every facility to the public. “Leaders of ANP rendered great sacrifices for restoring peace in the region,” he said.

He said PTI ignored Swat and its people despite the fact that the people had offered major sacrifices against militancy.

He claimed that ANP was the only party fighting for the rights of Pakhtuns and their development.He said that ANP would hold accountable PTI for its ‘corruption’ after coming into power.

Meanwhile, talking to mediapersons in Ouch area of Lower Dir on Friday, ANP provincial deputy general secretary Aimal Wali Khan said all state institutions should work within their domain to guarantee a strong and stable political system.

Earlier, he offered condolences on the death of party’s senior leader Zahir Shah Khan.

ANP Senator Ilyas Bilaur and Lower Dir president Hussain Shah Yousafzai were also present.

Aimal Wali said his party had planned to establish at least one university in each district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, strengthen the local bodies’ system, and work for Fata-KP merger if it came into power. He said the party had included such issues in its election manifesto.

He said a strong local bodies system would end floor-crossing at provincial and national levels.

The ANP leader said the Chief Justice of Pakistan should also focus on provision of cheap and easy justice in lower courts.
