SHIKARPUR, May 22: A seminar titled ‘Role of Registered Medical Practitioners and General Practitioners in Population Welfare Programme’ has highlighted the importance of family planning and its role in socio-economic development of the country.

Dr Zahid Akbar, an officer in the Population Welfare Department, apprised the participants of the seminar of the importance of population welfare in general and family planning in particular.

He also informed the participants about government’s policies and programmes in the area of family planning.

The seminar was organized by the district population office here on Saturday.
