MUZAFFARABAD: A man was injured by Indian firing on Friday while preparing the grave of a teenage girl who died a day earlier after falling victim to unprovoked aggression from across the Line of Control (LoC) in the southern Poonch district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), officials said.

The incident took place in Battal village of Hajira tehsil at about 9am when 55-year-old Noor Hameed was busy preparing the grave of 15-year-old Aamna Miskeen, said Poonch Deputy Commissioner Raja Tahir Mumtaz.

Of Friday’s casualty, Mr Mumtaz said Indian troops sniped at the victim in what was “a dangerous trend in unrelenting ceasefire violations by trigger-happy Indian soldiers”.
