KARACHI, Jan 8: The anti-terrorism court No. 4, headed by Judge Khan Perviaz Chang, reserved judgment on Tuesday in a carjacking case against a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement till 11th.

Accused Hiyat has been tried for depriving a civil judge of his car at gunpoint within the limits of the Buffer Zone police.

According to Sarwar Ahmed, civil judge, Malir, three men deprived him of his Mehran (AA-5713) at gunpoint on April 18, 2001 at K. B. Road in North Karachi. The car was found torched near the People’s Chowrangi.

The civil judge had immediately reported the snatching, occurred during a strike call by the Muttahida and Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mohaz, to the nearby police picket.

Later on May 2, the police arrested two Muttahida workers, Muhammed Sohail and Hiyat in the case. However, suspect Muhammed Sohail was released after the complainant judge identified only Hiyat as one of the three carjackers.

Special public prosecutor, Feroze Mehmood Bhatti, examined in all five prosecution witnesses against the accused.

TJP MEN: The Anti-terrorism court, headed by Judge Abdul Hamid Abro, declared the provincial chief of the Tehrik-i-Jafferia Pakistan and four others as proclaimed offenders in a double murder case.

The TJP leaders and workers were booked in the FIR of the murder of Muhammed Iqbal and Abdullah, two workers of the Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan.

Two workers, Syed Muhammed Qasim and Hasan Ali, were arrested by the Site police and five others, including Allama Hasan Turrabi, Mirza yousuf and Asif, were shown absconders in the final charge-sheet.

The court, which had earlier issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of the absconders, also ordered the attachment of entire movable and immovable properties of the absconding accused.

The two SSP activists were killed and 10 others were wounded when their vehicle was fired upon on October 22, last year. The victims were on their way after attending a party rally.

The judge fixed 18th for the hearing of the case and issued notice to the prosecution to produce its witnesses in the court.
