‘TMAs fail to deliver’

Published May 22, 2005

LAHORE, May 21: Punjab Minister for Law, Local Government and Rural Development Basharat Raja on Saturday expressed dissatisfaction over the working of tehsil municipal administrations. Speaking at a workshop here on Saturday, the minister said the TMAs failed to implement the recent government decision to ban the illegal refilling of liquefied petroleum gas cylinders in their respective areas.

The TMAs, the minister said, also could not check illegal use of spaces reserved for public facilities in commercial plazas, and stop the fireworks storage and business in congested areas.

He said except for a few buildings, no commercial plaza in the city had any facility for special persons.
