MARDAN: Former federal minister and central leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti has urged the National Accountability Bureau to start investigations into irregularities and corruption in mega projects launched by the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, he alleged that almost all PTI lawmakers and leaders were involved in embezzlement of funds and irregularities in development projects.
He urged NAB to start inquiries in projects, including Bus Rapid Transit, billion tree project and recruitment under NTS system.
Khwaja Hoti urges NAB to take action
He said that the market price of biometric machines installed in the educational and health institutions was Rs13,000 each, but instead its price had been shown as Rs100,000 in government documents.
Mr Hoti said that he would also file a writ petition in the Peshawar High Court against PTI leaders for their corruption in government projects. He alleged that the PTI MNAs and MPAs had openly been selling government posts. He said that the provincial government had taken unnecessary loans from the Asian Development Bank for BRT project.
He criticised PTI chief Imran Khan for ignoring cases of corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The PPP leader said that PTI would face defeat in the next general elections.
ARRESTED: Police have arrested three people, including stepmother of a teenager who was slaughtered to death four days ago in Mian Gulzara area here.
SP (investigation) Hafiz Janis Khan said this while giving details of the blind murder case at a press conference at his office here on Wednesday.
He said that the body of Taimur Khan, 18, was found in wheat fields in Mian Gulzara area on Sunday last. He said that Jamrud Khan, the victim’s uncle, had lodged an FIR against unknown accused.
The SP said that they had arrested stepmother of the victim along with her two accomplices who had confessed during police interrogation to the killing of Taimur.
He said that the investigations revealed that the woman had illicit relations with the other two accused.
