LAHORE: The Punjab police claim to have arrested through the Interpol from Dubai seven suspects wanted in the cases lodged against them with various police stations of the province.

A team of police experts was dispatched with all necessary documents to bring the suspects back to initiate proceedings against them under the law, an official said.

He said they had fled Pakistan and the Punjab police authorities had contacted the officials in Dubai seeking their help for arrests.

Of them, five accused including Fayaz Anwar, Saif, Majid Butt, Tariq Javed and Numan were wanted in the cases lodged against them under murder, attempted murder, anti-terrorism and other charges in the provincial capital.

The cases were registered with the Hanjarwal, Kot Lakhpat, Harbanspura and Baghbanpura police stations, he said.

The others including Amanat Ali and Ahmad Hussain were wanted to the Gujrat and Rahim Yar Khan police in the cases registered against them under the similar nature of crime.
