PESHAWAR, May 19: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan has called for a donors’ consortium to streamline donor inputs to avoid duplication of work in projects in the health sector. The minister was talking to Julian Shweitzer, Sector Director of World Bank, who called on him here on Thursday.
He told the World Bank official that steps to boost health services at the district level were under way.
He said that under DHQ standardization project, capacity building of district managers, apart from providing equipment and other facilities, would also be considered.
The minister said that mother and child health facilities would also be extended to the grassroots level. The minister said that development of human resources was indispensable for overcoming shortage of skilled personnel in the remotest areas of the province.
He also underlined the need for establishing health school at district level to achieve the desired goal.
