Dear DPO, Please check thoroughly before advice any deportation. As far as Chinese, they were born free in a friendly neighbouring country, and never had chance to be indulge in corrupt police system. Please also check, is any Chinese worker being harassed by police? Like we(common people/businessman/and project in-charge) as Pakistani encounter in normal routine for bribe and (Chai pani Kharcha). When you going to watch the video you couldn't find the starting reason and cause of the disruption/incident. Please pin point those matter in your statement as well, as far as i understand this point must be highlighted. "This incident may cause of communication barrier and/or could be reason of mention above". Regards

Anyone who had the audacity to beat up Police officers especially in a foreign country where language might also be an issue, must be made to pay for their criminal behavior. Imagine some Pakistani workers beating up Police officers in some Middle Eastern or EU country.

@Sabir there is a fast track channel to address any misbehave by any local authority (through embassy) and the Chinese or any other are always well aware of that. Do not give them grace marks as owing to the relationship of state no one can get away with anything wrong. Everyone has to respect the law of land and Ignorance of law is no excuse!

We respect China as neighbour and long time dependable friend. China is not colonial and never forced us to do anything against our wishes. I fully in agreement with Khanewal police to deport Chinese responsible for the trouble created in Khanewal. This is very important to give the message to all powerful houses to respect our laws. Otherwise they will take it granted every thing like Americans.

Govt should follow DPO recommendations and deport the Chinese who broke the law unless they show repentance and apologise. Standing on a police vehicle is a clear indication of their unruly behaviour. No one is above the law. If we allowed the Chinese to go wild, this would cause serious problems in future. Imagine what would happen if Pakistani workers had done the same thing in China?

Deporting them is the correct thing to do. The same Chinese obey the law in China because they fear the consequences of breaking Chinese laws. These guys are not afraid of Pakistan's police because they have been told that working in Pakistan they are special.

Chinese is a disciplined nation. Any misbehavior by Chinese workers will not be tolerated by Chinese government. Also this is a sensitive issue. Our government must take Chinese government into confidence and conduct an impartial inquiry and take action accordingly.

Some of the commentators here have developed undue admiration for Chinese! Since Chinese local news is not published in Pakistan (Indian is published owing to old relations) doesn't mean that China is crime free. The matter seemingly started on the visit to a red light area. What kind of disciplined community is that? Bashing up an ordinary Pakistani is different (it could bring pride to Chinese, as they could do it in Pakistan itself), but beating a law enforcement officer is definitely not acceptable. Please don't stoop down this low. Nobody's doing any charity. Chinese are there for you for their own profit. I don't think local policemen were asking for chai-pani from Chinese for all!!

it is so brave decision by the DPO Khanewal. Chines, who are here for their own profit and our police always respect of any foreignerm especially the chines are always respected for us but in the law and order situation nobody is superior to the law. To all! I am living in beijing for years! What i have seen here is that even if a chinese has done wrong to me police will help that chinese! All rules are made to please their nationals! It does not matter whose fault it is. A foreigner cannot attack police is any country and just be not given criminal punishment.

Is the DPO in his senses? If the Chinese nationals broke any law, they must be nabbed and tried under the laws of the land. I'm sure those guys do not have diplomatic immunity so why they be designated as Persona non-grata? I think those Chinese have not been even detained as of now. It's absolutely justified demand. Set the example right at the beginning. The foreign workers must understand that they will have to respect our laws else they will be treated as such. The government of Pakistan should immediately deport them.

If the government wishes to prove it to the people , this is not another East India Company in the making. The Chinese workers clearly seen charging in the videos must be held accountable, if not imprisoned then at least deported at the earliest. The police protection is there for their safety and not to escort them to a brothel.

Our govt should not tolerate such things and criminals should be sent to jail instead of only deportation. If a Pakistani worker does such thing in China, will they leave him?? @Sabir communication barriers and bribery doesn't give them the right to take law into their own hands. They can complain to the higher authorities about any misbehaviour with them. Beating up policeman and common people isn't the way of a civilised person and it definitely is in the violation of the sovereignty of Pakistan.

Honestly, the police officers should have made an example out of these Chinese guys. Do the Pakistani men standing around these workers have no honor? I could never imagine someone trying something like that in the USA. The police would have shot them all long before they got close to the police car.

Investigate thoroughly and professionally and if these Chinese are guilts, they must be deported. Simple. We must not back down on this as it set dangerous precedence. In future the rules must be made very clear to all these workers in very clear language, to avoid misunderstanding.
