Rs40 million for zakat bodies

SARGODHA, May 17: A sum of Rs40 million has been released for disbursement among 1,063 district zakat committees. According to a breakdown, a total of Rs23.59 million have been allocated for maintenance allowance, Rs11.1 million for the deserving students willing to continue their education and Rs2.214 million for providing free treatment to the poor at the government-run hospitals. The amount was disbursed at a meeting here on Tuesday. — Correspondent
