PESHAWAR: The city police on Thursday launched Android app to improve its service delivery with the help of modern technology.

Provincial police chief Salahuddin Khan Mehsud was the chief guest on this occasion who unveiled the app. The app is available at the Google Play Store and can be downloaded on Android phones.

Mr Mehusd said that the aim of introducing this app was to improve the public service delivery with the help of technology. He said that the system could ensure immediate access to the police in case of any emergency. He said that people could report blast, robbery and other incidents through this app. He said that this would be a milestone in coping with emergencies.

He said that the KP police were introducing new ideas to improve policing. He said that police’s use of technology and research had brought crimes ratio to the lowest as compared to the previous year. He said that this app would help foster confidence between people and the force to eradicate crimes.

The app offers free calling feature to the police department in case of emergency while one can also use it to report incidents of crimes and accidents to the cops. Pictures and videos about crimes and other incidents could also be shared with the police department with the help of this app. It also provides contact numbers of the city’s police stations.
