ISLAMABAD: Seventy five women golfers from across the country, including few foreign players, are expected to feature in the third edition of Pakistan Ladies Amateur Golf Championship when it tees-off from March 16 here at the Islamabad Golf Club (IGC).

The Pakistan Golf Federation, in collaboration with Federal Golf Association, are holding the annual event for which 75 female golfers have registered to participate.

According to the details, ladies from Karachi Golf Club, DHA Golf & Country Club Karachi, Gymkhana Lahore, Defense Raya Lahore, Lahore Garrison Golf Club, Royal Palm Country Golf Club, Margalla Greens Golf Club, Rawalpindi Golf Club and Wah PAF Golf Clubs of Pakistan will be competing for the coveted title.

IGC will also be welcoming international lady golfers to the event which will include Sonya Akther and Liza Akter from Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) and Phatsikarn and Thantita from Thailand.

Zeenat Ayesha, Executive Committee Member PGF, along with with her team of lady golfers from Islamabad Golf Club on Monday welcomed the participants and announced the plan of events for the following three days.

The championship is being held under the patronage of PGF while main sponsors are Serena, Saphire and L’Oreal. Air Blue are the official Travel Partners.

The tournament is open to all ladies with registered handicaps with their respective clubs. There are five categories announced for the championship:

Category 1: Ladies Amateurs: Gold -H-cap 0-15, Silver — H cap 16-24, and Bronze H-cap 25-36.

Category 2: Girls: from 10 -15 year olds

Category 3: Senior Ladies

Category 4 : Invitees

Category 5 : Team Match
