MAHMUDIYAH, Iraq, May 15: Two Iraqi journalists working for the Kuwait-based Al-Rai television network and their driver were executed south of Baghdad on Sunday, an Iraqi army officer said. “The two reporters were on their way to Karbala and were intercepted with their driver near Latifiyah by armed men in two cars,” Captain Hussein Ammari said. “They were driven off the road and had their throats slit. Their bodies were then ditched on the roadside,” he said. “The attackers vanished in the surrounding palm groves”.—AFP
