LAHORE, May 15: Raheela Bano’s contribution of six gold medals enabled Wapda to win the the National women cycling championships with a total of 396 points at the National Velodrome on Sunday. Wapda won eight gold medals, five silver and two bronze medals to gain first position.

Sui Southern Gas with 108 points secured the second position. They earned three silver and bronze medals, each. Railways obtained 47 points by claiming two bronze medals to clinch the third spot.

Punjab with one bronze medal earned fourth position. Balochistan and NWFP also fielded teams but they failed to get any medal.

Wapda won the eighth gold medal in one kilometre team sprint clocking one minute 26.82 seconds. Sui Gas remained runners-up while Railways finished third.
