KHAR (Bajaur Agency), May 15: A reconciliatory jirga member died when two groups exchanged fire in Bajaur Agency on Saturday. Officials said Muhammad Boostan Khan, a senior leader of the Jamaat-i-Islami, was accompanying members of a jirga to stop fighting between two clans of the main Salarzai tribe of the agency.
When the jirga members were on their way to Salarzai tehsil, the two groups exchanged heavy fire. Muhammad Boostan expired on the spot while other members of the jirga escaped narrowly.—Correspondent
