PESHAWAR, May 15: Activists of the Pasban-i-Sahaba held a protest demonstration against the desecration of the Holy Quran by US forces in the Guantanamo Bay detention centre. The protesters, who took out a rally from Qasim Ali Khan mosque, assembled at the Qissa Khwani bazaar. They chanted slogans against US President George W. Bush and President Gen Pervez Musharraf. They also set on fire the American flag.

The protesters tried to march towards the Governor’s House to register their protest against the desecration of the Holy Quran and publication of a derogatory cartoon in the Washington Times, but police contingents did not allow them to continue their march.
