ISLAMABAD, May 14: The Senate Standing Committee on Health on Saturday took strong note of the non-compliance of the decisions it took on May 3 regarding registration of the medical graduates of Baqai Medical University, Karachi, with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The committee members said the controversy must be settled and the 30 students be registered immediately to enable them to start their professional careers and earn a living.
PMDC President Abdullah Jan Jafar informed the committee that the matter had been discussed with the health ministry in detail to obtain guidance.
He told the committee that the council would meet on May 21 to finalize the issue of registration of 30 Baqai Medical University graduates. He added that a report would be submitted to the committee soon after the council’s meeting.
