KARACHI, May 14: Russian Federation, along with other members of the CIS, is working actively to strengthen world’s security and stability. This was stated by V.P. Mikhaylov, Consul General of the Russian Federation, while speaking at a ceremony organized here at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture to mark the 60th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory in the World War-II over Germany.

Mr Mikhaylov paid tributes to his countrymen who made a decisive contribution in achieving victory and saved the people not only of Europe but of the entire world from the fascists’ enslavement.

He particularly mentioned the Russian government’s pledge to continue to enhance cooperation with the international community for the sake of maintaining a just world order, prosperity of people and harmony of nations in a peaceful world free from extremism, terrorism and aggressive adventurism.

He said that in this noble commitment before the international community, his country looked forward to Pakistan as a valued and reliable partner and neighbour.

Sergey Kuznetsov, Director of the centre, presented the welcome address.
