FAISALABAD, May 13: A woman was shot dead allegedly by her brothers in Darul Aman on Thursday night. Reports said Kaneez Fatima married a man against her family’s wishes nine years ago. After some time, however, the couple developed differences. The woman filed a suit for dissolution of marriage and started living in Darul Aman as her brothers refused to accept her. On Thursday night, Ramzan and Anwar, the woman’s brothers, went to Darul Aman and shot her dead.

The Darul Aman administration overpowered the two brothers and handed them over to police.

The woman gave birth to a child in Darul Aman a few months ago. Her body was sent to the Allied Hospital for autopsy. — Staff Correspondent
