CCTV cameras needed

Published February 17, 2018

THERE are undoubtedly huge advantages in installing CCTV camera systems in Karachi. A burglar entering a shop knows he is being filmed and will avoid stealing.

Members of the public, knowing that CCTV is continuously monitoring a hospital waiting room, are less likely to assault the staff. CCTV makes people safer since it can spot accidents as they happen. It undoubtedly saves lives. Missing people are found, criminals are traced and accidents prevented.

Through these columns I appeal to the authorities concerned to take some concrete steps about installation and updating of CCTV cameras in every loaclity and business centre to prevent criminal activities.
