ORAKZAI: A peace committee member and renowned tribal leader, Malik Shahjahan, was killed in a landmine blast in the Mushti Bazaar area on Thursday afternoon, sources said.

Mr Shahjahan was travelling in his car when the vehicle hit the landmine. His driver Gul Shah and son Farman sustained injuries.

In a combing operation carried out in the area after the incident, security forces took several suspects into custody and shifted them to an unspecified location.
