BADIN: A former activist of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) was allegedly whisked away by law-enforcers while he was sitting at a shop in Tando Bago town of Badin district on Thursday.

Rafaqat Jarwar had quit JSQM long ago; he is currently affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) and works with a newspaper as a journalist, according to the victim’s brother, Naseerullah Jarwar. He claimed that personnel in police uniform along with some plainclothesmen whisked away his brother without sharing the charges against him with anyone.

Badin SSP Abdul Qayyum Pitafi, however, denied involvement of any personnel of the area police in the alleged episode.

Guessing that his brother may have been picked up over his association with the JSQM, Naseerullah said he himself had quit that party along with his brother long ago to join the PML-F.
