QUETTA, May 11: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf has denied reports about establishment of a military cantonment in Panjgur. “The government has no such plans,” he said while talking to newsmen on his arrival at the Panjgur airport in connection with the election campaign of PML National Assembly candidate Sardar Fateh Mohammad Hasni on Wednesday.

He said the reports “being spread by opposition parties” were wrong and baseless. “This is simply a propaganda spread by other parties contesting on the vacant NA seat of Panjgur,” he told reporters.

Jam Yousuf said that his government wanted to see Balochistan prosperous and believed in launching development activities. He said the elements opposing development projects initiated by the government would not “succeed in their plans”.

He said the government was making all possible efforts to resolve all issues of Balochistan through negotiation and mutual understanding. In this connection, PML president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had already established contacts with political leaders of all hues and shades.
