BUNER: The Jamaat-i-Islami Youth (JIY) president Syed Ashiq Ali has vowed to make all-out efforts to ensure provision of education, employment opportunities and playgrounds for the youth.
He was addressing ‘meet the press programme’ at the local press club here on Friday. He congratulated the newly-elected cabinet of the press club. He said the JIY was formed two years ago after merging Shabab-i-Milli and Pasban.
He claimed that the organisation had 500,000 registered members in KP and 29,000 in Buner district. He said the JIY had organised internal elections with the aim to practically involve youth in the election process.
He said the entity had introduced various sections within its organisation to involve youth in education, sports, cultural, literary, social and welfare activities.
Mr Ali said the JIY had launched drive against anti-social activities, especially to eradicate the menace of narcotics use among youth. He demanded of the district government to provide adequate facilities to the youth.
